Youth recreational sports in the US are often volunteer-based organizations. Milltown United, as well as its league and other member clubs, are volunteer-based from administration through coaching. This gives us the unique ability to be community driven, make soccer available to as many families as possible, and help our kids grow and learn life skills through sport.
Our volunteer coaches form the core of Milltown. They facilitate families and players on their teams coming together in a fun and positive environment. Prior knowledge of soccer is not required, and many of our coaches come from limited or no prior experience. We provide numerous resources to learn the basics of the game and how to organize teams. The most important requirements for coaching rec soccer are bringing a great attitude and utilizing common parenting skillsets.
Our coaches will attest to the meaningful impact it’s had on their lives, as well as the impact it has for their kids and families on their team.
