Milltown Introduces Futsal to our Club
Milltown Soccer is pleased to introduce futsal to our club. Futsal is a soccer game that is fast paced, develops great ball and passing skills, and is a blast to play!
We are very fortunate to have Freddie Braun as our Futsal Program Manager and Head Coach. Freddie was on this year’s Portland Timbers U23 team that was undefeated and won their leagues National title. Freddie is training hard to so he can hopefully make this upcoming seasons Portland Timbers team.
We kicked off this program November 12th and had around 70 participants during our sessions. We will host another free introduction to futsal night on Tuesday, November 16th from 5:30 to 6:30pm and 6:30 to 7:30pm in the Bonny Slope School’s gym.
Our plan is to have teams and individuals sign register. Similar to our practices, teams would gather Monday and Wednesday nights or Tuesday and Thursday nights for one hour each session. We will probably run sessions 6pm to 8pm.
We have secured Bonny Slope School’s gym through the end of November. We need to secure another location so that we can continue the program into February. We plan on charging around $55 per child to participate in this program. Each participant must be insured via being a member of an OYSA (Oregon Youth Soccer Association) member club. This is open to Milltown registered players as well as Cedar Splinter’s, Aloha, Sommerset West, Westside Warriors, and Oak Hills registered players.
Come see what all the talk is about and experience futsal with Milltown. We are working hard at trying to offer the best possible rec soccer experience.
